Drone delivery project for general customers
Project to verify consumer needs and the introduction process for brick-and-mortar stores
Niigata City, in collaboration with a coffee chain store, implemented a limited-time coffee delivery service using drones on January 8, 2022. This is a pioneering example of drone delivery to general customers in Japan, a service that is becoming more common overseas.
This is also the first case of drone delivery in collaboration with a coffee specialty store in Japan.
Based on orders from customers (consumers) who made reservations in advance, we prepared the products (coffee) in the store and delivered them by drone.
By linking drone delivery to the actual operations of a coffee chain, the aim is to verify consumer needs for drone delivery and its implementation in physical stores.
The company also aims to provide the service on a regular basis and introduce it to stores across Japan.
TOMPLA will continue to work to popularize drone delivery services in Japan.
